2 2Sotogrande is a secluded and discrete port area. It’s predominantly Spanish and far from the Costa del Sol image. The bartlett mitchell apartment is a penthouse on the 3rd floor of one of the more established apartment blocks (6 flats in the block.) It has stunning views out over the port and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. The port is genteel rather than bussley & when you are sitting looking down from the balcony, it is just the perfect spot to watch the world go by.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms ( double & a twin/double both with own bathrooms inc hairdryers). A fully functioning & well equipped kitchen (washing machine/dryer/dishwasher) plus a comfortable lounge with cable TV/DVD/stereo/WIFI plus spare sofa bed
The best part of the apartment is the lovely terrace, with ample stylish furniture, to make it the perfect relaxing spot for your holiday and enjoy a G&T whilst looking at stunning views.
Sotogrande is the largest privately owned residential development in Andalusia. A gated community that has security access meaning it is quite secure, although the public do have access. It is located in the municipality of Cadiz, so surrounding area is not as built up as in the Malaga province. Sotogrande is composed of a 20 square kilometres (8 sq mi) stretch from the Mediterranean Sea, back into the foothills of the beautifull hills of Sierra Almenara. From the terrace of the apartment you can see the Rock of Gibraltar & over to Africa & Morocco
Some of the richest and most powerful families of Spain have summer homes in Sotogrande. It is the summer point for those from Madrid. You often see many sports people, the rich and the famous.
Sotogrande was established by the generous couple Joseph Rafael McMicking e Ynchausti and Mercedes Zobel de Ayala y Roxas, both Filipinos of American and Spanish descent, respectively.
The Zobels, having seen the idyllic coasts in 1962, bought five neighbouring farms, with the idea of creating a luxurious residential development by the Mediterranean & creating what has become one of the most luxurious urbanizations in Europe. The jet set appeal of Sotogrande lies in the natural beauty of the site, enhanced by the early landscaping, planting of avenues of palm and conifer trees, underground infrastructure and wide, two-lane roads. There are a number of artificial lakes and 5 golf courses, including the world-famous Valderrama, created by Jaime Ortiz-Patiño and the San Roque course.
