5 tips to help you manage your stress levels
As #StressAwarenessMonth starts I thought I would share my top 5 tips to help you manage your stress levels:
1) Plan your meals.🖊️
It’s been found that planning your weekly meals, improves the nutritional quality and variety of food you consume. Further to this, you are less likely to consume energy-dense foods that are high in fat, sugar, and fat.
2) Try not to skip meals. ⛔
Consuming regular meals helps maintain your energy levels as well as your mood – preventing you over eating at your next meal time.
3) Keep healthy snacks at the ready 🍿
To prevent snacking on energy-dense foods, have healthy snacks in the cupboard for times when you feel peckish. Try and opt for foods with wholegrain, fruit, or unsalted nuts!
4) Do something you enjoy!🤩
This could be listening to a podcast or music, meeting up with a friend, or reading a book. Doing things we enjoy helps us relax and feel better!
Don’t forget to do things for yourself – you are important too!
5) Exercise 🏑⚽
This doesn’t have to be strenuous, maybe a simple walk in the park (get some extra Vitamin D, if it’s a nice sunny day). Exercise has been proven to release endorphins which are known as ‘Happy Hormones’, improving our mood and helping to relieve stress.
