Bringing the bmFamily💜💚 together
On Monday 21st October we met together with over 100 of our senior chefs and location managers for our second AGM of 2024 (yes we have two AGMs per year at bm, we don’t do things by halves!).
Reflecting on the last year
One of our London based clients kindly allowed us the use of some of their space in the late afternoon/early evening and it was a fantastic opportunity to bring some of the teams together. One of the highlights is always hearing the buzz in the room when our teams get together and it was lovely to see lots of new faces, reflecting some new wins this year, as well as many, many well established faces, reflecting our success at retention.
One highlight for me was seeing two managers from a recently opened group contract meet in person for the first time ever, despite the fact that they had both been involved in the contract together for 7 years. Their previous caterer employers had simply not made the effort to bring them together in this way before.
Updates from across the business
We started our AGM with an opportunity for some of our suppliers to meet the attendees and of course this gave an opportunity for some new ideas to be shared. Next was a Town Hall style presentation by each of our department heads to update on where we are now as a business and what we have planned for 2025.
New innovations
Knowing that caterers can’t sit still for long we then moved everyone to rotate around three areas (so that everyone gets to see and hear in smaller groups). The areas showcased some new ideas for grab and go, some fantastic festive ideas for Christmas pop ups and a section to remind/highlight what we call the Fundamentals of bm – a series of base standards to build upon but never fall below.
Fundamentally fun
To round off the AGM there was an opportunity to enjoy some delicious bowl food, have a glass of something and enjoy the company of colleagues. We are after all a hospitality business!
