Inspiring People Awards: Honouring our unsung heroes

We believe that the heart and soul of BM lies with the members of #bmFamily💜💚. To celebrate our incredible team members we established our Inspiring People Awards—These awards are dedicated to recognising and celebrating the individuals who inspire us, drive innovation, and uphold the values we hold dear. What makes this even more special is each team member can nominate their work colleagues. Here’s why these awards are so important to us and why we celebrate them with such enthusiasm.

Recognising everyday heroes

Inspiring People Awards gives our teams the opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who often work behind the scenes. These are the individuals who not only go above and beyond their job descriptions, but those who do this when their personal life also has its challenges. They are colleagues who work through adversity with a smile, inspire us through their actions, work ethic, and positive attitudes.

Bringing our teams closer together

By empowering our teams to recognise the inspirational people amongst us, we connect, empathise and live the #bmFamily💜💚 ethos. As I read the recognition statements it really highlighted to me how much we value and genuinely care about our colleagues. Here is an example of just some of the inspiring comments:

“She started with BM as a GA, worked her way up to Supervisor and then GM. She has worked tirelessly over the two terms at BM whilst dealing with important responsibilities outside of work. She is a role model who has fought against the norm. Above all it is her drive and inspirational personality that gets my vote!”

“He is always willing to go the extra mile in a busy site and making sure everything is to the best of his ability and what the customers want day in day out, regardless of what he has happening outside of work.”

“He started with us a KP and moved into the kitchen to start doing breakfast for us while we had staffing shortages. He has done such a good job he will now be moving from breakfast to work in the main kitchen and continue his development. He has a brilliant work ethic, always happy to help his team members and always with a smile on his face. He is also inspiring other team members in our unit to aim higher and take the next steps.”
