Along with his two brothers, Robert and William, James upholds the traditions of his family’s wine-merchant business, which was established in 1822.
The wine producers they source from are generally like-minded family-owned wineries, who focus on quality over quantity. Also, many of them share a commitment to sustainable vineyard practices, such as organic or biodynamic cultivation and harvesting – and this helped Ellis Wines become a carbon-neutral business in July 2023.
Most importantly, the Ellis Wines team believes in offering distinctive, high-quality wines that don’t appear in supermarkets, and are often supplied to them exclusively. So, working with them, we have something genuinely different to offer our customers. And there’s plenty to choose from: their extensive wine list comprises over 1,000 wines – including many award winners – imported from all around the world.
