Chocolate and nut tiffin

This chocolate and nut tiffin transforms leftover cakes, biscuits and pantry scraps into a rich, co-bake treat with layers of crunch and chew.
Ingredients
-
450g milk chocolate
-
125g butter
-
250g leftover cake/muffin/any other sponge based baked item or off cuts
-
100g golden syrup
-
200g old biscuit or cookies
-
150g chopped nuts and pretzels
-
75g small marshmallow pieces
-
125g breakfast cereals
-
125g chopped up brownie pieces or other tray bake
Method
Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup together in a pan
Blitz the cake off cuts into a crumb, don’t worry if it becomes a paste. Stir this into the chocolate mix until it is fully incorporated.
Save a handful of the chopped nuts and pretzels back to decorate the top.
Mix with the rest of the ingredients and place into a 30cm x 20 cm tray and push the reserved nut and pretzels on to the top. Chill overnight.
Cut into portions the following day.
